Browser-local EPUB tool
Fix your EPUB series metadata. In the browser.
Drop in an EPUB and fix the metadata that matters: series name, series index, author, title, language and cover. The book is edited inside your browser, checked, and downloaded again. Nothing is uploaded and nothing is installed.
EPUB metadata editor
EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 · no upload · no account · DRM-protected books are refused
This EPUB cannot be edited here
If the book is DRM-protected, the honest options are the store or library that issued it. EpubMeta never removes DRM, and it never will.
Checks on the file you loaded
Checks on the file you are downloading
These checks are a structural subset: the package document parses, the spine and manifest agree, referenced files exist, and the mimetype ordering is right. This is not epubcheck, and it is never described as one. The edited file is re-opened and re-read before the download starts, and the download is blocked if any check fails.
Never uploaded
The book is unzipped and re-zipped in memory by your own browser. There is no server step, no queue, no 24-hour retention policy to read.
Made for a phone
Sideloading happens on phones. The form is usable at 360 pixels, with real touch targets, so you can fix a book next to the device that needs it.
Both series formats
Series name and index are written in the EPUB 3 form and the calibre form at the same time, so older tools and newer readers both see them.
What you can edit
- Title and author(s)
- Series name and series index
- Language and publisher
- ISBN and description
- Cover image
What happens when you save
The edited book is rebuilt with mimetype first and stored uncompressed, the way the format requires. Then the new file is opened again inside the page and every edit is read back and checked, along with a structural subset of validation. The download only starts when those checks pass. More detail in how it works.
What this tool will not do
- It does not remove DRM. Encrypted books are detected and refused.
- It is not a full text editor and it is not epubcheck.
- It does not upload, store, or keep your books anywhere.
If you want to understand the metadata itself, the guide explainswhat series metadata is and why sideloaded books often show none.
